About the Ride

The Bill Thornburgh Friends and Family ride is intended to capture the spirit of “To Finish is To Win” and have a fun time doing it! The majority of the ride is on flat power line or jeep roads with good footing and very few rocks. Plenty of horse water and hay are provided at checkpoints along the trail.  Saturday there are three distances available - 9 mile intro ride, 30 miles or 50 miles.  If you have enough qualifying rides and are competing in the 50 mile ride on Saturday, you can also cross enter in to the Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Region II Championship Ride.  On Sunday there are two distances available - 25 miles or 50 miles.

Our Key Volunteers

There is always something that "needs doing" before, during, and after each day's riding.  If you have some spare time and want to help, walk up to one of these folks and ask for something to do!

Ride Manager

Dan is a hardworking real life cowboy who met Bill many years ago and liked the family so much he married Bill's daughter Callie Thornburgh Brown.

Assistant Ride Manager

Jeanine is the bookworm who keeps the paperwork moving before, during and after the ride.  Find her if you are interested in volunteering or need help with something during the ride.

Our Veterinarian

Head Vet is Dr. Dave Nicholson, DVM.
